He sat there, his hair like Einstein
Parted in the middle for two
He was excited about connections
His shirt changed from orange to you

-- His name was Ivan, he told me, why the pills were there

His face unappealing, and ape like
His voice gravelly and accented hard
Short haircut, frazzled, looking weird
Explaining how emotions played a card

-- He told me how I think, slowly ever so mean

He goes about his business unseen
Not knowing I watch, what he says
His royalty comes with a price
It is free, his face blank, amaze

-- His voice slowly, fever pitch, he had been held there at gunpoint

And there, again I am lost
In a world that is flat and unreal
Watching him there from a distance
He is nothing -- no sex appeal

-- A man who seemed like a mouse, A few moments, that led me to scream

And as he wanders out
He has not seen me, nor never will
This Professor who is giving me understanding
As he drops in his mouth, a pill

-- His voice confident and strong, and the nightmares as I recall years later on

And the students did not know what this meant
They are teaching him nothing he sees
Pressured, insecure and alone
He takes the message to his knees

-- His back hunched and stooped, for me, disappear with slow delight

And nobody ever saw him
Taking the sip of inner might
Just slowly here teaching others
Hiding his secret with such hollow fright

-- He pointed to the video screen, I will remember the professor today

It was the Professor that I knew
As I held his hands within  reach
And slowly took away his pleasure
Replacing it, so he could teach

-- My words formed in a highlighted scream, he took away all my fright.

And now this is his new journey
Free from definition and sounds
Carrying there in his pocket
A secret message - hope, life, so proud
Something I just wrote about a guy in terrible situation, taking pills to cover the fright. Hope you enjoyed.
